About the strain

I have worked on Bastard Ryder since 2022. The line's mother is DB#16 from Drunken Bastard F3 by 7East Genetics; the father is Lowryder. In selection, I looked for a combination of autoflowering and Australian Bastard Cannabis, or ABC: small, unusual leaves in place of the familiar fan leaf.

In The first generation from a cross between two parents. F1 ↗, I kept BR#3, BR#12 and male BR#6. I liked their soft, flexible branches and active branching. These plants started two parallel lines, #3 and #12. In The second generation of a cross, descended from F1 plants. Traits can separate into different combinations in this generation. F2 ↗, I selected autoflowering plants with ABC leaves from 350+ seeds; I also worked on the following generations myself.

ABC produces small, glossy leaflets without the usual serrated edges. The catalog describes a compact, dense bush with thin, flexible branches and dense flowers covered in trichomes. My selection included different frameworks: from a well-branched plant to one dominated almost entirely by a central cola.

The release has a listed cycle of about 70-75 days from seed to harvest. On the F1 plants, I noted lemon and lime, with mint as well in BR#12. At F3 harvest, I recorded apple blossom, lemon and pine. The catalog aroma emphasizes berries: blueberry and sour fruit, with a garlic note in some plants.

F1-F5 selection was my work; Doctor's Choice handles the F5 seed run and the F6 release. The catalog includes Regular seeds can produce both male and female plants. regular ↗ and Feminized seeds are produced to give female plants. feminized ↗ versions. Bastard Ryder became the autoflowering parent of Fastberry Bastard.
